Att theft from or of a motor vehicle

Dear Resident

At approx 11pm on Monday 31st August 2 offenders on a Suron bike have been seen on CCTV to try a van door before paying close attention to motorbikes secured on the driveway of a property on Harewood Avenue. They then make off empty handed. If you have any CCTV in this area please can you check it for any suspicious activity at the relevant time and let me know by reply if anything is captured (after today I'm on leave until the 10th Sept so I may not reply until next week).

The victim of this incident believes there was possibly other incidents that occurred the same evening but I've not seen any other reports. I appreciate some crimes seem minor, you think we won't catch anyone and you've better things to do all of which I totally understand but crime reporting statistics also influence things like officer numbers so I'd hate for the powers that be to decide as Read and Simonstone only has 100 reported crimes it only needs 1 officer when really 500 crimes have occurred but 400 haven't been reported so you end up 4 officers down. I'm sure it's not quite as simplistic as this but hopefully you understand what I mean.
